The Moscow Arbitration Court to recover more than 3 billion rubles (US$52.1 million) from VIM Airlines on behalf of a subsidiary of state oil company, Rosneft.
The carrier owed the debt to Zenit Bank per the original loan agreement, with early repayment of the debt initially requested in September 2017 following the financial problems at the carrier. The rights of the claims were eventually transfered to RNGO, the subsidiary of Rosneft.
The court also granted RNGO the right to foreclose on assets belong to VIM, including aircraft engines and shares of Bratsk Airport which were pledged as collateral under the loan agreement.
