ATLANTA (March 28, 2018) – Smith, Gambrell & Russell, LLP (SGR) is pleased to announce that Jonathan Russell has joined the firm’s Global Transport Practice in London. Mr. Russell is the latest addition to SGR’s growing Global Transport Practice which first opened international offices in London and Southampton, U.K. with the hire of founding Partners Ben Graham-Evans, Mark Turnbull and their associate Gareth Hawes in January 2017. Since then the U.K. team has expanded to six, including a trainee solicitor and specialist aviation paralegal.

A Senior Associate in SGR’s Global Transport Practice, Mr. Russell is a U.K. qualified transaction lawyer specializing in the sale, purchase, financing, ownership and operation of corporate and private aircraft. He also has experience advising on the sale, purchase, and financing of super-yachts.

Ranked by Chambers HNW 2017 as an associate to watch (Global-wide, Private Aircraft), Mr. Russell is also featured in the Spear’s 500 directory, considered the essential guide to the top private advisers for high net worth individuals.

SGR’s Global Transport Practice now has more than 20 aviation attorneys globally. The U.K. practice is led by aviation industry veterans Ben Graham-Evans and Mark Turnbull, along with Associate Gareth Hawes, and the team also includes Sam Chapman, a Trainee Solicitor. Since January 2018, the Global Transport Practice has added Counsel Shani Fisher in Los Angeles, Partner Josh Gentner in Chicago, and Associate Chris Raymond in Atlanta.
