Ural Airlines now plans to purchase four aircraft in 2018, three less than previously planned for 2018, according to CEO Sergey Skuratov. All four to arrive by end of May 2018 on operational leases.
The airline cited the lack of available used aircraft meeting its criteria as the reason.
The carrier, which initially planned to acquire seven aircraft, now plans to acquire one ex-Air Berlin A321 and two ex-Monarch A321s, among the four to be acquired. Ural Airlines to also acquire two A321neos to be delivered from Ireland also on operating lease, delivering by the end of May 2019.
Ural Airlines plans to carry 9.4 million passengers in 2018, up 17.5% yoy. Current fleet consists of 23 A320s, 13 A321s and seven A319s.
