TruJet plans to expand across India by the end of its current fiscal year with the addition of 20 new routes, and the wet-lease of five to seven ATRs.

The Hyderabad-based airline current flies to 14 destinations and operates five ATRs.

The airline was recently awarded 20 new routes in Gujarat, Rajasthan, Western Maharastra, and the North-East of the country.

The new routes will be operated out of Ahmedabad and Guwahati, with plans to operate "44-48 sectors per day by August 2018", up from the current 32 sectors per day.

As for its finances, the airline is close to operational breakeven, according to CFO KG Vishwanath, who said the carrier is "already registering high 20% EBITDA margin levels."
