Air Malta plans to add two more A320neo aircraft in summer 2019, as part of its long-term strategy, according to chairman Charles Mangion.

Once delivered, the fleet will rise to 12 aircraft.

The carrier's first A320neo, serial 7875, was delivered in June 2018, on lease from Avolon.

Air Malta is also mulling the addition of bases on other Mediterranean islands, as well as the potential expansion to North Africa and other parts of Africa.

The airline currently flies to Tunis and Casablanca.
