Paris, Amstelveen, 22 November 2017 - South Korean low-cost carrier Jeju Air has expanded its partnership with AFI KLM E&M by increasing the scope of its existing engine support contract to include a further ten shop visits. The initial agreement covered an array of maintenance and repair services for the CFM56-7B powerplants equipping Jeju Air's fleet of Boeing 737-800s.
Aiding Jeju Air's expansion
Through this contract extension, AFI KLM E&M has become a strong MRO partner for Jeju Air, and is actively assisting the South Korean carrier to expand its operations. As the largest LCC in North East Asia (excluding China) Jeju Air will ultimately operate a fleet of 50 737-800s until 2020, some 30 of which are already in service.
Mr J.W. Louis Kim, Jeju Air's Purchasing Team Manager, said: "We rely on AFI KLM E&M expertise and the quality of its MRO solutions to guarantee the best performance and highest availability rate for our engines and are satisfied with the services delivered to date. It was, therefore, natural for us to extend our trust towards a reliable partner that is attentive to our requirements."
Dominik Wiener-Silva, AFI KLM E&M Vice President Sales, Asia-Pacific, added: "The inclusion of additional CFM56-7 engines in the support we are already providing for Jeju Air testifies to our customer's satisfaction with our services and this is an essential point for us. We hope to be able to continue supporting Jeju Air as it grows by delivering the most competitive cost and performance MRO solutions."
