Indigo Partners is considering operating a ULCC out of Buenos Aires El Palomar airport, either by acquiring an airline or creating a new one, according to Thomas Insausti, head of Argentina's National Civil Aviation Administration, following meetings with the US-based investment firm.
Indigo Partners, based in Phoenix, started Frontier Airlines, Volaris, JetSmart, and Wizz Air. In late 2017, it signed a MOU to acquire 430 Airbus aircraft at list prices of US$49.5 billion.
