The Ghana Civil Aviation Authority plans to meet all six dormant airlines by the end of April 2018 in order to determine how they plan to resume operations.
“We are meeting them to find out their current situation so we can work together to get them operational again,” according to head of the GCAA, Simon Allotey.
Of the 13 Ghanaian airlines with AOCs, only seven are active. Another eight airlines have already secured their Air Carrier Licences, but lack AOCs for the time being as they look to meet regulatory requirements.
Local dormant airlines, including CiTylinK, Antrak and Starbow, will meet with the regulators to discuss their plans to resume operations.
