Copa Holdings, headquartered in Panama, to launch a new airline unit from the Panama Pacific Airport to multiple destinations spread across the region, including Havana, Caracas, Lima, Bogota, Cali, Medellin, Cartagena, Pereira, Barranquilla, Santa Marta, and San Jose.

Copa is currently in the process of obtaining an AOC for the new airline –-dubbed La Nueva Aerolinea -- from the local CAA.

The new low-cost carrier will operate under the brand name Wingo, which has recorded growth of 21% between 2017 and 2018. Wingo is an airline based in Colombia and owned by Copa.

A launch date has yet to be announced.
