Paris, Amstelveen, Le Bourget, 17 June 2019 - Looking for an experienced MRO partner on the market, this new Cambodia-based airline has selected AFI KLM E&M to provide support services for its ten A320s. The contract covers a wide range of components, as it also extends to aerostructure and Line Replaceable Units (LRUs) for the V2500 and CFM engines these aircraft are equipped with. The services provided will include repairs, pool access, provision of a Main Base Kit (MBK) and AOG support in the Asia-Pacific region.
The CEO of Lanmei Airlines, Dr. Li Kun, was in attendance at the Paris Air Show to make the contract official - as he explained: "AFI KLM E&M possesses impressive operational capacities, sustained via its vast repair and logistics network around the world. For this reason, the MRO has already been able to win over some big clients in the Asia-Pacific region. By entrusting them with our fleet of A320s, we know that we've chosen a quality service provider - their service package is perfectly adapted to our economic and operational requirements."
Thirty years of experience in A320 support services
AFI KLM E&M's ability to provide local support for Lanmei Airlines via an MBK located in Phnom Penh, as well as regionally through its pool in Singapore and globally through its European bases, constitutes a major asset that was a significant factor in the airline's decision. The company can now ensure operational continuity thanks to AFI KLM E&M's global MRO network.
Fabrice Defrance, Senior Vice President Commercial AFI KLM E&M, stated: "We've been developing maintenance services for this type of aircraft since 1988, and our internal capacity currently covers 85% of components in the A320 family. We're capable of offering solutions adapted to the needs of each of our individual partners. We're proud to put this experience to work in supporting the growth of Lanmei Airlines. This new contract with the Cambodian start-up will strengthen our position and the quality of our A320 services in Asia."
