Yemen Airways plans to buy new aircraft in 2018, according to chairman Ahmed Masoud al-Alwani, who added the airline is in talks with a domestic bank for a loan for US$200-280 million to fund the purchase.

The carrier plans to utilize the aircraft to meet local demand, and restore the carrier to its previous state.

Aircraft types were not disclosed.
