Springfield, Missouri USA - Worldwide Aircraft Services of Springfield Missouri and Saab have jointly signed an agreement whereby Worldwide has acquired a Saab 340B multi-mission commercial aircraft configured for MSA/ISR missions and has become the preferred provider for Saab in preparing Saab 340’s in commercial MSA/ISR configurations.

The modifications that Worldwide can provide include installations of Belly Radomes and Forward Looking Infra-Red (FLIR) retractable mounts and enclosures. The agreement entered into between the parties Includes cooperation within technical data and engineering support areas for the purposes of modifying standard Saab 340’s into multi-mission MSA/ISR applications.

As part of the agreement, Worldwide has also acquired Saab’s Maritime Surveillance Aircraft demonstrator platform, serial number Saab 340B-441 The acquired Saab 340B, which is part of this program, will be brought to the U.S. to have additional surveillance and special mission systems modifications performed, including the addition of a long-range fuel system, and be redelivered to a new commercial operator in the upcoming months.

In addition to the new preferred provider status, Worldwide is already an Approved Maintenance Organization (AMO) for Saab and is currently completing an STC for Saab 340B Cargo aircraft utilizing Saab 340 cargo kits and has recently completed an STC for the Saab 2000 Cockpit Ballistic Doors.
