Wizz Air Announces Two New Services And Increases Frequency On Another Route
Wizz Air, one of Europe’s fastest growing airlines and the leading low-cost carrier in Georgia, announced today the start of two new routes from Kutaisi to Bologna and Cologne. The airline has also announced the earlier start of the previously announced Kutaisi-Nice route and increased the frequency of the Kutaisi-Milan service. The new low fare routes are already on sale on wizzair.com starting as low as GEL 77.99/EUR 24.99*.
WIZZ started operations from Kutaisi International Airport in 2012and after 7 years of successful operations, and only 2 months after announcing the allocation of its fourth and fifth based aircraft and 12 new routes from its Kutaisi base, the airline is proud to bring further expansion at its Georgian base by adding two new services starting in November 2019 and July 2020.
Fusing elegance with down-to-earth gravel in one beautifully colonnaded medieval grid, Bologna is a city of two fascinating halves. One side is a hard-working, high-tech city located in the Po valley where opera-goers walk out of majestic theatres into some of the nation's finest restaurants. The other is a politically edgy city that hosts the world's oldest university and is famous for its graffiti-embellished piazzas.
Cologne (Köln) offers lots of attractions, led by its famous cathedral whose twin spires dominate the skyline. The city’s museum landscape is especially strong when it comes to art but also has something for fans of chocolate, sports and even history. Cologne's people are known for their liberalism and love of life; it’s easy to have a good time with them in the beer halls of the Altstadt or during Carnival.
Wizz Air will start its previously announced new service to Nice already on 12 December 2019 and will raise the frequency of the Kutaisi – Milan route to 4 services per week as of November 2019.
Together with the two new routes WIZZ offers now 41 routes to 19 countries.
WIZZ, the pioneer of low-fare air travel across Europe and in Georgia, is continuously expanding its network by bringing affordable travel opportunities combined with great on board experience between Kutaisi and the rest of Europe. The two new routes announced today will bring an additional 94,000 seat capacity to the airline’s Georgian network, totalling over 1.5 million seats on sale in 2020. WIZZ’s fast-growing operation in the country will further stimulate the local economy, by increasing employment in Georgia’s aviation and tourism sectors and supporting more than 1,000 jobs in the associated industries** in 2020.
András Radó, Corporate Communications Manager of Wizz Air said. “We are delighted to announce the addition of two new services to Bologna and Cologne and increase the frequency of our Milan route. Being Georgia’s number one airline, we are happy to bring forward the start of our previously announced route to Nice already to November 2019. Wizz Air continues its steady growth and besides creating low fare travel opportunities for its travellers it also creates local jobs with the airline as well as in associated industries. Our continuous growth in Kutaisi further underpins Wizz Air’s commitment to Georgia, the city and the airport of Kutaisi, as well as stimulates the tourism and hospitality sectors in Georgia. We are now offering 41routes to 19 countries from Kutaisi with one of the world’s youngest fleets.”
