Wizz Air Announces New Agadir Route From Budapest
Wizz Air, the largest low-cost airline in Central and Eastern Europe, today announced a new route from Budapest to Agadir in Morocco. The newest WIZZ service will commence on 31 October and be operated two times a week, on Tuesdays and Saturdays. Seats on the new route are already on sale and can be booked on wizzair.com from just HUF 8,990*, which includes a free hand luggage allowance of up to 55x40x23cm maximum dimensions.
Agadir, WIZZ’s 66 destination from Budapest, is located in Southern Morocco, on the shore of the Atlantic Ocean. The city boasts 300 days of sunshine a year and offers spacious sandy beaches to its visitors, who can also explore the unspoiled nature visiting several national parks near the city.
Following the recent commencement of 10 routes and the announcement of the Bordeaux, Saint Petersburg and Frankfurt services, Agadir is already the 14 destination the airline will start operating flights from Budapest to in 2017. The airline now connects the Hungarian capital with 66 cities across Europe and beyond, which makes its Budapest offer the most diverse one in the entire WIZZ network.
Being the hometown airline of Hungary, Wizz Air currently operates flights from two Hungarian bases in Budapest and Debrecen with a total of 12 aircraft in the country, and two more aircraft to join the Budapest fleet in 2018. In 2016, 3.7 million passengers flew with WIZZ to and from Hungary, which is more than any airline has ever carried on its Hungarian routes, and represents 23% growth year over year. Based on the 2016 figures the airline’s operations support over 2,800 indirect local jobs**.
WIZZ now offers 72 routes from Hungary connecting Budapest and Debrecen with 31 countries across Europe and beyond.
Gabor Vasarhelyi, Corporate Communications Manager at Wizz Air, said: “We are delighted to announce the addition of another exciting route to our ever-growing Budapest network.
