Wizz Air, the largest low-cost airline in Central and Eastern Europe, today announced a new sunny route from Vilnius to Agadir in Morocco. The new service will commence on 1 November and will be operated weekly during the winter season. Seats on the new route can be booked at wizzair.com or via the free WIZZ mobile app from only €34.99*, which includes a free hand luggage allowance of up to 55x40x23cm maximum dimensions.
Agadir, WIZZ’s 25th destination from Vilnius, is located in Southern Morocco, on the shore of the Atlantic Ocean. The city boasts 300 days of sunshine a year and offers spacious sandy beaches to its visitors, who can also explore the unspoiled nature visiting several national parks near the city.
Besides Agadir, Wizz Air will also start flights later this year connecting the Lithuanian capital with two Polish cities, Gdansk and Warsaw. These routes will commence in September and December, respectively.
Wizz Air’s first Vilnius flight took off in 2011 and since then, the airline has become the leading carrier at Vilnius Airport. In the first 7 months of 2017, WIZZ carried 784,000 passengers on its low fare routes to and from Lithuania, which represents a 15% growth year over year. Throughout the country, Wizz Air’s operations this year will support more than 900 jobs** in associated industries.
Wizz Air now offers 31 routes from its three Lithuanian airports, Vilnius, Kaunas and Palanga.
Gabor Vasarhelyi, Corporate Communications Manager at Wizz Air, said: “Following the recent announcement of a Gdansk service, we are delighted to add another long-awaited route to our ever-growing Vilnius network. Agadir is now available on our low fares and we are sure customers will enjoy visiting the pearl of Southern Morocco, which is known for its year-round sunny weather, spacious sandy beaches and family-friendly resorts.
