Watson Farley & Williams (“WFW”) is pleased to announce that aviation finance specialist Dominic Pearson has joined the firm’s Aviation group in London as Of Counsel. Prior to joining WFW, Dominic was an Associate with Milbank in New York City.
Qualified to practice in both England & Wales and the US states of New York and California, Dominic has extensive experience advising on aviation related asset-backed securitisations (ABS), other complex warehouse and portfolio financings, and large portfolio sales. He is and continues to be one of the principal advisors to the Aviation Working Group in relation to the Global Aircraft Trading System (GATS), and is their lead lawyer on the drafting of the GATS ‘e-terms’ and standard form trust documents.
Dominic is one of several recent high profile new joiners to WFW’s Aviation Group, including Partners Jonathan Mullender and Jim Bell who joined the firm last year in Munich and London respectively.
Global WFW Aviation Sector Head Charles Viggers comments: “Our global Aviation team had a dynamic second half of 2018, working with a broad range of top tier clients on award-winning deals. We’ve also been working hard to broaden the depth and range of our sector expertise, with our traditional strength in finance and leasing driving a renewed cohesion with our litigation, corporate/commercial, regulatory, competition and insolvency/restructuring service lines. Previously an AirFinance Journal Rising Star, Dominic will be a strong addition to the team, significantly enhancing our UK and US offering”.
London Aviation Partner Jim Bell adds: “I had the privilege of working with Dominic when we were both at Allen & Overy in London earlier this decade. He’s an excellent lawyer with a broad range of expertise spanning the aviation sector and I greatly look forward to working with him again at WFW”.
