Malmö, Sweden – January 25th 2021 – West Atlantic, a European dedicated cargo airline specialised in airmail and express cargo transportation, has taken delivery of its first ATR-72-F from LUSAT Leasing, Spain.
The aircraft, MSN 147 is modified to Large Cargo Door (LCD) containerized configuration and will be operated on behalf of a major Integrated Express provider within the UK with a second aircraft planned to join during early Q2 2021.
The aircraft will provide additional capacity to West Atlantic’s existing fleet as the group embarks upon a fleet renewal program to replace its long serving BAe ATP-F fleet.
The ATR-72F carries up to 8.2 tonnes of cargo with 75m3 of bulk capacity or 7.5 tonnes of containerized cargo in 5 ABU type ULDs.
