Wellington first region in New Zealand to receive Fiji Airways’ new Boeing 737 Max 8 aircraft
Wellington Airport passengers will be the first in New Zealand to experience Fiji Airways’ new Boeing 737 Max 8 aircraft when it launches on the Wellington to Nadi service from December 2018.
The new aircraft will be more fuel efficient, have modern cabin interiors and amenities including seatback inflight entertainment and leather seats, larger overhead luggage storage and reduced cabin noise.
Fiji Airways’ will be the first airline in the region to receive delivery of the more than 4,500 Boeing 737 Max 8 aircraft on order around the world.
Fiji is a popular destination for Wellingtonians and demand for the direct service has grown strongly since Fiji Airways introduced its Wellington to Nadi service in 2015.

Fiji Airways’ departs Wellington to Nadi on Thursday and Sundays. The Fijian National Carrier also provides international connections from Nadi to destinations like Los Angeles, San Francisco, Honolulu, Singapore, Hong Kong, Tokyo and the Pacific with stopover packages in Fiji.
