WeGo Air plans to launch in 2019 as new Russian airline
WeGo Air plans to start charter operations in April 2019 as a new Russian airline, flying a fleet of A321s out of Moscow Zhukovsky airport.
The airline aims to launch flights to the south of Russia and other destinations within Europe, as well as Tunisia.
WeGo Air looks to be a subsidiary of SmartLynx Airlines, as its www.wegoair.ru domain is registered to the Latvian parent, according to our research. Additionally, engineering specialists from Latvia -- home of SmartLynx -- will support the A321s, as mentioned on the website of WeGo.
Other media reports suggested the new airline will additionally fly B737s and the parent is Avia Solutions Group of Lithuania, however, no evidence substantiated this.
Ramport Aero, operator of Zhukovsky, is also said to be linked to the project.
