The Cologne-based airline WDL Aviation will fly from 01 August 2019 for the British airline easyJet. The wet lease agreement includes an Embraer E190 LR regional jet with the identification code D-ACJJ, named “Charlotte”. For easyJet, WDL will fly from London Gatwick to European destinations.
WDL, which is based at Cologne/Bonn Airport and belongs to the Berlin-based Zeitfracht Group, already maintains numerous cooperative ventures, including with British Airways, Finnair and HOP.
Wolfram Simon-Schröter, Managing Director of the Zeitfracht Group, is delighted with the agreement: “EasyJet’s confidence shows once again that WDL has developed into a renowned partner in the international wet lease business. Our special thanks goes to Elisabeth Jesse, who has been continuously driving the expansion of our wet lease business since she took over as Chief Commercial Officer (CCO) in March this year”.
WDL Aviation is one of Europe’s leading providers of aircraft leasing services for regional jets. The airline’s fleet consists of three BAe 146 jets and three Embraer E190 jets. The Embraer jets are one of the best-selling regional jets in the world and are used by many established European airlines.
