Bogotá/Mexico City, October 28, 2021.– Viva Air, the Super Low-Cost carrier operating in Colombia and Peru, and Viva Aerobus, Mexico´s ultra low-cost carrier, signed the first interline agreement between two ULCCs in Latin America to provide passengers more convenient flight options between Mexico and Colombia.

With this agreement, passengers can purchase tickets to fly Bogota - Mexico City through airlines’ website or App having access to the schedules of both, Viva Air and Viva Aerobus, combining their travel with the most convenient options. For example, depending on travelers’ needs, they may realize their departure flight through Viva Air and return through Viva Aerobus, or vice versa.

Now, travelers have more schedule options for their comfort and with a service which prioritizes biosecurity, punctuality, customer focus, low fares, and tailored-made flights. Business models of both airlines allows them to offer affordable options - Base Fare from Viva Air and Zero Fare from Viva Aerobus - and the possibility of customizing every flight with the additional services required by each passenger, paying only for what they need.

We ensure air inclusion and give people the opportunity to fly more to more destinations, in this case, between Colombia and Mexico”, said Félix Antelo, president and CEO of Viva Air.

This agreement is celebrated to boost the commercial and tourist potential between Colombia and Mexico, providing a wide and affordable offer to passengers. These flights are operated with two of the most modern fleets in America with advanced technology from the European manufacturer Airbus. On the one hand, Viva Air's aircraft integrate the youngest fleet in Colombia and the third in South America; on the other hand, Viva Aerobus fleet is the youngest in Mexico and the second in North America.

In a second phase of this agreement, both airlines will be able to extend their offer through connecting flights that link their route portfolios. Colombian passengers will be able to access the entire network Viva Aerobus’ destinations in Mexico and United States; and Mexican travelers can access to Viva Air flights in Colombia and Peru.

Currently, Viva Air (www.vivair.com) operates 34 routes in Colombia and Peru; and 7 international routes to the United States, Peru and Mexico; while Viva Aerobus (www.vivaaerobus.com/mx) offers more than 112 routes within Mexico and 31 international routes to the United States, Cuba and Colombia.

Besides the advantages that this alliance provides to passengers, both airlines benefit from each other by strengthening their presence on the continent.
