Mexico City; July 10, 2018.-Viva Aerobus, Mexico´s ultra-low-cost airline, integrated two new Airbus A320neo aircraft to its fleet, as a result of its constant expansion and modernization strategy. Thus, the airline already has a fleet of 26 aircraft: 22 Airbus A320ceo and 4 Airbus A320neo.

"We continue renewing our fleet, one of the youngest in the world. Thanks to the advanced technology of Airbus, we provide passengers the confidence and certainty that they fly with the highest standards of safety and quality; guiding pillars of our operation", said Juan Carlos Zuazua, CEO of Viva Aerobus. "Moreover, we add value to our customers´ experience, who enjoy new and modern aircraft that provide greater comfort", he added.

These new aircraft are the first two of eight that Viva Aerobus will receive throughout 2018. These deliveries are part of the order made in 2013, which was, at the time, the largest purchase made to Airbus in Latin America with an investment over 5 billion dollars.

"It's great to see how Viva Aerobus, a faithful Airbus partner since 2013, has positioned itself as one of the fastest growing low-cost-carriers in the Mexican market. These new A320neo that join their fleet, one of the youngest in Latin America, will allow them to continue expanding their operations in Mexico and the international market, helped by the efficiency and profitability of the most successful single aisle aircraft at worldwide level", said Arturo Barreira, Vice President of Sales of Airbus for Latin America and the Caribbean.

Moreover, these new aircraft strengthen Viva Aerobus' ultra-low-cost business model, based on operational efficiency. The Airbus A320neo is highly eco-efficient, generating benefits in operating costs and in benefit of the environment.

Thanks to more efficient engines and aerodynamic devices at the tip of the wings, known as Sharklets, this aircraft model reduces the CO2 emissions by 5,000 tons and minimizes the acoustic footprint up to 50%. Additionally, it consumes 15% less fuel, reduces the maintenance cost by 5% and the operating costs per seat by 14%; besides, it provides unparalleled load capacity.

"All these advantages, by allowing us to be more efficient and competitive, generate a direct benefit for passengers, whom we will keep offering the best prices in the market. Additionally, the expansion of our fleet will allow us boost our growth in frequencies, routes and destinations", said Zuazua.

In this sense, Viva Aerobus starts operations, so far, on 13 new routes this year. Besides, it has inaugurated routes that no one else operates, connecting key destinations that make the airline an ally of air connectivity and of the development it generates. Such is the case of the flights Cancun-Torreon, Merida-Tuxtla Gutierrez and Morelia-Monterrey.
