Vistara ordered six firm B787s, with options for an additional four Dreamliners in a deal potentially worth up to US$3.3 billion at list prices. The carrier is considering either the B787-9 or B787-10, according to insiders.

The B787 will open up routes to Europe, including London, for the full-service Indian airline, who was also considering the competing A330neo.

Vistara will officially announce the order in due course.

For its narrowbody fleet, the airline is favoring the A320neo, with an order for 60 aircraft -- likely the A320neo in a deal valued at $6.6 billion.
