Vistara, the 49:51 joint venture between Singapore Airlines (SIA) and India's Tata Sons, may order the B737 MAX, as it looks to benefit from synergies taking place at SIA.

Vistara currently leases 20 A320s, which are likely to be returned to lessors if the order is placed.

Singapore Airlines subsidiary, SilkAir, which will be merged into SIA in the coming years, also plans to transition to an all-Boeing fleet. The transition decision was credited to Vistara’s current CEO Leslie Thng, who used to work for SIA.

Vistara also plans to launch international operations in 2H 2018 and is looking to order widebodies for service on long-haul routes.
