New Delhi, March 19, 2018: Vistara recorded its highest-ever passenger load factor (PLF or occupancy) of 91.2% in the month of February 2018 (as per the DGCA monthly report), after having topped the list among full-service carriers (FSCs) several times over the last one year. The performance is phenomenal for a carrier with three cabin classes, with more than 95% occupancy in its Economy class during the month, which is amongst the highest in the world. Vistara also registered the highest on-time performance of 73.8% in the month among FSCs.
Additionally, Vistara registered only 0.1 complaints per 10,000 per 10,000 passengers, the lowest of all major Indian airlines. The airline’s cancellation rate also constantly remained to be one of the lowest in the industry at 0.15%.
Mr. Sanjiv Kapoor, Chief Strategy & Commercial Officer, Vistara, said, “We are gratified by our performance in February 2018. We have hit the sweet spot of high loads with close to zero denied boardings, a difficult and creditable achievement indeed, while maintaining our record of having some of the lowest cancellation and customer complaint rates in the industry globally. We have also once again achieved the best on-time performance amongst full- service carriers, despite having a large proportion of our operations from Delhi and Mumbai, two of the most congested airports in the country. None of this would be possible without the unwavering passion and commitment of our 1,900 staff, who continue to raise the bar each day.”
As the highest-rated Indian airline on SkyTrax and TripAdvisor and winner of numerous “Best in Industry” awards, Vistara has certainly raised the bar in the Indian aviation industry, in the process making flying something to look forward to again. In a short span of three years, Vistara has flown over 8.5 million customers, and today serves 22 destinations with over 730 flights a week, operated by a fleet of 19 Airbus A320 aircraft. Recently, Vistara was awarded for being the ‘Most Passenger Friendly Airline’, jointly by the Ministry of Civil Aviation (Govt. of India), Airports Authority of India and Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI), as well as the title of ‘Best Airline – Service Standards’ (Domestic Category) by Pacific Area Travel Writers Association (PATWA) at ITB Berlin 2018.
