Hanoi, 18 March 2020 – Amid the surge of the COVID-19 pandemic and recent entry restrictions between countries, Vietnam Airlines will suspend services between Vietnam and Russia, Taiwan starting the 19th of March, 2020.
The earliest flights to be cancelled include VN63 from Hanoi to Moscow and VN570 from Ho Chi Minh City to Taipei. Flights to/from Russia and Taiwan will be suspended until further notice from the competent authorities.
Vietnam Airlines will waive conditions and fees for itinerary or flight date changes for all passengers flying between Vietnam and Russia or Taiwan whose travel is affected by these suspensions from the 19th of March until further notice.
Upon receiving updated rulings from authorities, Vietnam Airlines will announce its operational resumption of the two routes. For other destinations, the airline will continue to monitor the situation and alter its operational plan in response to decisions made by respective governments. Vietnam Airlines will keep passengers in Vietnam and Vietnamese nationals overseas updated.
