March 28, 2018 - Vietnam Airlines has debuted its widebody B787-9 aircraft on Hanoi-Moscow (Russia) direct service which greatly enhances customer experience on this route and contributes to a closer bilateral relationship, economic prosperity and tourism between Vietnam and Russia.

This upgrade demonstrates Vietnam Airlines ambition to provide incremental and large-scale improvement in service quality. The Hanoi-Moscow route is now served by Boeing 787-9, replacing the entire fleet of the previous Airbus A330. The VN65 on Boeing 787-9 landed at Domodedovo airport (Moscow) at 17:00 on March 27th.

Described as the "5-star mobile hotel," B787-9 has an innovative design that delivers a feeling of spaciousness, with larger overhead bins, high ceilings and full flat seats on Business class will create special comfort on the long flights. New lighting system provide a range of alluring ambient lighting and humidity and pressure in the cabin are kept equal to 1.8 km (2.4 km for other generations of aircraft) which greatly help to reduce fatigue when traveling. Add-ons such as power sockets, USB ports, panoramic windows and larger overhead bins…are also noticeable features on Boeing 787-9.

Passengers travelling between Vietnam and Moscow have a minimum baggage allowance of 30kgs. For journeys up to 10 hours, passengers can enjoy a wide range of movies and music on the front screen while being served hot meals, wine and cocktails. On the occasion of launching B787-9 on Russia route, Vietnam Airlines offers 1000 -3000 miles bonus to LotuSmile members travelling between Hanoi and Moscow from March 27 to June 30 2018.

Vietnam Airlines has been operating direct flights to Russia since 2002 with frequency of 3 flights per week, carrying more than 1.5 million passengers between the two countries over the past 15 years.
