UIA received another Boeing 737-800 NG aircraft
On Friday, June 2, Ukraine International enhanced its fleet with another Boeing 737-800 Next Generation aircraft, the fourth out of five airliners that the carrier plans to receive in 2017.
The aircraft passed an official registration procedure in Ukraine and received the UR-PSY registration number. Manufactured in 2006, the aircraft underwent renovation. UIA expects to operate the newly received Boeing 737-800 NG accommodating 186 passengers in two-class seating configuration across its medium-haul route network.
The UR-PSY operated its first flight under PS code on Monday, June 5 (Kiev – Kharkiv).
“We are glad to be complying with our fleet renewal and expansion program action plan, – noted Evgeniya Satska, UIA Corporate Press Secretary. – Every aircraft means additional capacity and empowers us to offer passengers more travel opportunities in summer and narrow down unexpected schedule changes.”
In 2017, UIA continues implementing the fleet expansion program. This year the carrier plans to receive five Boeing 737 NGs, including two brand new aircraft right off the production line. Simultaneously, UIA renews the fleet and expects to decommission 2 Boeing 737 Classic aircraft in autumn.
Effective June 6, Ukraine International operates 42 aircraft including 25 Boeing 737 NG aircraft with the average age of 9.1 years. Currently, UIA fleet`s average age amounts to 12 years.
