Managerial changes have taken place at Ukraine International. Due to the employment contract expiration, Yuri Miroshnikov, who has been working in UIA since 1993 and managing the airline for the last 15 years, leaves the position of UIA President on the 12th of September. Effective September 18, 2019, Yevhenii Dykhne takes on leadership of UIA.
Headed by Yuri Miroshnikov, UIA transformed from a local hybrid airline with 8 aircraft, 870 employees, and 640 thousand passengers into Ukraine’s flag carrier with 42 medium and long-haul aircraft, route network of over 50 destinations, nearly 3 thousand employees, and 8 million passengers carried per year. Ukraine International became one of Eastern Europe’s leading network airlines offering passengers world-class service.
Yevhenii Dykhne is a recognized crisis executive with vast managerial experience in infrastructure businesses, namely Lviv Airlines State Aviation Enterprise and JSC Ukrzaliznytsia. Between 2014 and 2017, Mr. Dykhne held the position of the Acting Director General at Boryspil International Airport State Enterprise. In 2017, he was appointed First Deputy CEO.
Under the leadership of the new President, the UIA’s top objective is to re-enter the profit zone while ensuring sustainable development of the network business model.
Following the decision of the general shareholders meeting, Yuri Miroshnikov is elected a member of the UIA Board and is required to take up duties on September 13, 2019.
“My entire career is dedicated to aviation and UIA, – noted Yuri Miroshnikov. – As a non-executive, I am committed to invest my expertise and experience to add value to the airline’s business and help the executive team develop the long-term strategy and find solutions to tough managerial challenges.”
