Rebranded carrier was formerly known as AnadoluJet

LONDON, 27 November 2023: Turkish Airlines has launched its new wholly-owned subsidiary, AJet, which will start operating to the UK from the end of March 2024.

The rebranded low-cost carrier will take to the skies with a new summer schedule with flights to destinations in Turkey.

The airline, originally called AnadoluJet, was established in 2008 to improve air transport links for Anatolia. The former Turkish Airlines brand will operate under the ‘AJet Air Transportation Inc.’ name as a wholly-owned subsidiary.

The unveiling of the new carrier was held at the Istanbul Sabiha Gökçen Airport Turkish Technic Hangar, with the participation of senior team members from Turkish Airlines.

Prof. Dr. Ahmet Bolat, Turkish Airlines Chairman of the Board and the Executive Committee, said: "In line with our goals for the next 10 years, we are proud to have started the establishment process of our AJet.

“The efforts and dedication we have put in for a long time have paid off, and we will introduce AJet to the skies with its summer schedule at the end of March 2024.

“We fully believe that AJet, with its new name, will become an important part of the low-cost aviation industry on a global scale.”

The new low-cost airline was created to strengthen Turkish Airlines’ position in an increasingly competitive market and will continue its operations based at Istanbul Sabiha Gökçen and Ankara Esenboğa Airports from the end of March 2024.

In line with its sustainability vision, AJet plans to operate as efficiently and sustainably as possible and will enter the low cost market with a focus on innovation.

By simplifying the services offered and utilising a wholly Economy Class configuration, AJet aims to reflect the cost advantage in ticket prices, making flights accessible to a broader traveller audience.
