Tunisair wants to change the delivery schedule for its five Airbus A320neo
Tunisair is negotiating with Airbus to bring forward the delivery schedule of five A320neo aircraft to 2019 instead of 2021 as originally agreed in a 2008 contract. The Undersecretary of State at the Ministry of Transportation, Sarah Rejeb, was speaking in a plenary session of the Assembly of People's Representatives (ARP, the Tunisian single-chamber parliament) which had been convened to adopt the Montreal Convention on Air Transport (Convention for the Unification of Certain Rules relating to International Air Transport). Rejeb stated that Airbus had already delivered 13 aircraft under the 2008 agreement. The Undersecretary also stressed that the services of the national airline are "unsatisfactory", but efforts are being made to improve them. In this regard, Rejeb recalled that instances of baggage theft at airports has decreased to one case for every 10 thousand passengers. The official further revealed that Tunisair is economically ready to accede to the Montreal Convention, which requires the flag carrier to minimize errors and improve capabilities.
