United States, January 22, 2018 – TrueAero, LLC, a diversified aftermarket commercial aviation company that focuses on asset management and leasing with a solid aftermarket materials distribution division announces that Ian V. Nicholson has been named to the newly created position of Vice President of Technical Operations effective January 2, 2018.
Mr. Nicholson, an aviation engineer with 35+ years of gas turbine and aircraft maintenance experience will be responsible for leading and expanding the engineering and technical records platform to further support TrueAero and its international asset management strategies and third party customers. He has a proven track record of helping companies create value through understanding the customer’s needs and financial implications while providing technically viable and quality driven solutions. Mr. Nicholson will report directly to Stratton Borchers, President.

Ian’s significant and award winning career along with his ability to develop and implement value driven and cost effective solutions will become an important component of our long-term growth strategy.”
Prior to joining TrueAero, Mr. Nicholson provided comprehensive engine management solutions through the Florida based consultancy agency StratosAer, LLC. Previously, Mr. Nicholson was Vice President of Engine Management and Engineering at AeroTurbine Inc., an AerCap company where he was integrally involved and responsible for all engineering activities for the repair and heavy maintenance of all commercial aircraft power plants produced by commercial engine manufacturers. From 2006-2013 Mr. Nicholson held successive leadership roles including Director of Maintenance, Director or Engineering and Vice President of Technical Operations where his process improvement initiatives, technical training, maintenance expertise and return- to-service strategies were critical to the company’s long-term market position, operating efficiency and bottom-line performance. Mr. Nicholson spent the first 25 years of his career with two of the largest commercial engine OEMs - GE Aircraft Engine Services, UK and Rolls Royce Plc, UK.
Mr. Nicholson earned a HND in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Derby, UK, is Six Sigma qualified in process improvement and is a recipient of GE’s “Wales Great People Award” for his cost savings contributions.
