Fort Lauderdale, Florida (March 28, 2018) – Tropic Ocean Airways, the leading seaplane airline in the Eastern U.S., is rapidly expanding operations from the Miami Seaplane Base on Watson Island, which is conveniently situated halfway between the commerce hub of downtown Miami and Miami Beach.

Tropic Ocean Airways’ FAA commuter airline operating authority enables Tropic Ocean Airways to offer an unlimited number of scheduled flights. Tropic Ocean Airways is rapidly expanding its scheduled service offerings and continuing to grow its successful private charter and sightseeing tour services.

During 2018 Tropic Ocean Airways will be taking delivery of an additional four (4) new Cessna Grand Caravan EX aircraft from Textron Aviation, the first such delivery is occurring in early April.

“Throughout Miami’s storied history, seaplane travel has been an integral part of the fabric of the city’s allure and international presence. As we celebrate the centennial of the Miami Seaplane Base we are excited to reintroduce seaplane travel to the great city of Miami, providing locals and visitors with even more options for convenient air travel within Florida and to/from the islands of the Bahamas,” said Tropic Ocean Airways CEO Rob Ceravolo.

To date, most of Tropic Ocean Airways’ business has focused primarily on the private charter market; however, with its upgraded operating authority, Tropic Ocean Airways will expand its scheduled service offerings from Fort Lauderdale and the Miami Seaplane Base to such destinations as Key West, Bimini, Marsh Harbour, Nassau, and other destinations to be announced later in 2018.

Tropic Ocean Airways currently offers weekly scheduled service from South Florida to Bimini, Great Harbour Cay, and Marsh Harbour with its fleet of 11 aircraft.

Known for offering travelers a superior, personalized, luxury flying experience, Tropic Ocean Airways provides customers short 30-minute pre-flight check-in times. Dedicated lounge staff greet guests and assist with baggage, complimentary valet parking, and check-in. Two professional pilots personally walk you through safety features and escort guests to the aircraft. Tropic Ocean Airways also provides a truly unique vantage point to experience the best scenery Florida and The Bahamas have to offer.

All Tropic Ocean Airways’ flights are operated by two pilot cockpit crews, and feature spacious air-conditioned cabins with club seating for eight passengers each with up to 30 pounds of baggage.
