TAP Air Portugal, the leading airline in Portugal and Volotea, the airline of mid and small‐sized European cities, have reached an agreement that will allow TAP Air Portugal to place its code on all Volotea-operated routes out of Faro-Algarve(Portugal), to France and Italy.
TAP Air Portugal and Volotea implemented a code-share partnership through which TAP Air Portugal will apply its code on the direct four routes already operated by Volotea out of Faro (Portugal) - to Nantes, Bordeaux, Marseille (France) and Verona (Italy)
Volotea services are operated seven times a week to Faro:
- from Nantes (on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays),
- from Bordeaux (on Thursdays),
- from Marseille (on Thursdays and Sundays)
- and from Verona (on Wednesdays).
Flights marketed by TAP with its own code are available for bookings through TAP booking systems and at www.flytap.com, as well as via worldwide reservation systems. Volotea operated flights are available for booking through its own website – at www.volotea.com.
Through this Code-share Agreement, TAP Air Portugal will be offering increasing travel options to customers by adding its own code to three new routes in France and one in Italy, offering for the first time direct services from Faro to Nantes, Bordeaux, Marseille and Verona operated by its code-share partner Volotea. Verona is also a new destination to be offered by TAP Air Portugal directly.
From April 2018, Volotea also operates two new direct routes to Portugal (Madeira) from the airports of Marseille and Bordeaux (France).
“We are very excited to implement this first code-share agreement in Volotea’s history that will clearly benefit consumers to connect important French and Italian cities with the dynamic Portuguese market”, Carlos Muñoz, Founder and CEO of Volotea stated. “Furthermore, it will allow Volotea to grow even further, into a larger geography and longer seasonality and in partnership with TAP Portugal, one of Europe’s strongest airlines”.
“This new codeshare aims to provide TAP customers with more service options enhancing flight connectivity possibilities from Portugal to France and Italy”, said Antonoaldo Neves, CEO of TAP Air Portugal.
With this agreement, both airlines will work together to strengthen customer benefits. Volotea expects to enhance its distribution in Portugal, teaming up with the worldwide most recognized carrier in the Portuguese airline sector.
The Parties will continue looking at future possibilities for expansion of their partnership.
