TAM has not completed its certification and will cease flying as a commercial operator, according to Bolivia's Defense Minister Javier Zavaleta, as the airline missed the 31 July 2018 deadline set forth by the government.
However, the government granted the company until the end of September 2018 to achieve the necessary certification in order to resume operations.
TAM, also known as Transporte Aéreo Militar, is looking to become a public company as it is currently part of the military branch.
Meanwhile, its debts are being dealt with, and a payment plan has been established.
