Swiss International Air Lines (SWISS) transported 8,520,186 passengers in the first six months of 2018 – some 5.9% more than in the same period last year. The company also operated more flights: 69,932 in all, a 1.2% increase on January-to-June 2017.

Systemwide passenger capacity was raised 3.9% for the first-half period in available seat-kilometre (ASK) terms. Total traffic volume, measured in revenue passenger-kilometres (RPKs), was a 5.1% improvement on the prior-year period. First-half systemwide seat load factor rose accordingly to 81.5%, an increase of 0.9 percentage points.

SWISS transported 1,608,933 passengers in June 2018, an increase of 8.9% on the same month last year. A total of 12,470 flights were operated, 5.0% more than in June 2017. ASK capacity was raised 4.4%, while RPK traffic volume rose by 7.3%. The systemwide June seat load factor of 87.1% was a 2.3-percentage-point improvement on the prior-year period.
