Swiss International Air Lines (SWISS) transported 1,434,678 passengers in May, a 0.4% increase on the same month last year. A total of 12,201 flights were operated for the period, 4.7% fewer than in May 2016.

Total May capacity, measured in available passenger-kilometres (APKs), was up 3.8% on its prior-year level. Total traffic volume, measured in revenue passenger-kilometres (RPKs), was raised 5.0%. Systemwide seat load factor for the month improved accordingly, rising 0.8 percentage points to 80.8%.
