SWISS carries more passengers in August on fewer flights
Swiss International Air Lines (SWISS)1 transported 1,630,536 passengers in August, 0.5% more than in the same period last year. The increase was achieved with fewer flights operated than in the prior-year period: 12,621, a 5% decline on August 2016.
August systemwide capacity was 0.7% below its prior-year level in available seat-kilometre (ASK) terms. Total traffic volume for the month, measured in revenue passenger-kilometres (RPK), was raised 0.8%. Systemwide seat load factor improved accordingly, rising 1.3 percentage points to 88.1%.
