· Austrian-born Wolfgang Jani moves from Schindler Germany to Austrian Airlines
· Jani succeeds Heinz Lachinger as CFO in April 2018

Austrian Airlines will have a new CFO in 2018. After the current CFO Heinz Lachinger announced in September that he intended to leave the company, Austria’s red-white-red flag carrier searched for and found a suitable successor, namely Wolfgang Jani. The 41-year-old Austrian will move from Schindler Deutschland AG & Co. KG to Austrian Airlines and assume the position of CFO effective April 16, 2018. At its meeting today, the Supervisory Board appointed Jani to serve as a Member of the Management Board and Chief Financial Officer of Austrian Airlines.

“For the Supervisory Board, it was important to find an established manager with international experience and Austrian roots”, says Harry Hohmeister, Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Austrian Airlines AG. “Wolfgang Jani will also contribute the know-how gained in another industry. I already look forward to the good cooperation with him.”

After concluding his studies in economics at the Vienna University, Wolfgang Jani began his professional career in the year 2000 as a controller for Schindler Austria, where he worked his way up to the position of CFO in 2007. In 2011, he continued with Schindler as Vice President & CFO of Schindler USA, moving to Morristown, New Jersey. In 2013 he returned to Europe and was named CFO of Schindler Germany. He also assumed responsibility as Area Manager for the Baltics in 2017. Born in the district of Güssing in the federal province of Burgenland, Austria, Jani is a passionate skier and racing cyclist. He is married and has two children.

Wolfgang Jani will have responsibility on the Austrian Airlines Management Board for the areas of Controlling & Risk management, Accounting & Taxation, Procurement and Infrastructure, Treasury and Aircraft Asset Management. Otherwise the composition of the Austrian Airlines Management Board will remain unchanged, with Kay Kratky serving as CEO and Andreas Otto as CCO.
