SMBC Aviation Capital announces appointment of Chief Commercial Officer

- Barry Flannery, SMBC Aviation Capital Chief Financial Officer, appointed to newly created role of Chief Commercial Officer (CCO)

- CCO role created to unify all areas of commercial responsibility within SMBC Aviation Capital and will help the business execute its growth plan

Dublin, June 25, 2021: SMBC Aviation Capital, one of the world’s leading aircraft leasing companies, today announces the appointment of Barry Flannery as Chief Commercial Officer.

Barry joined the company in 1997 and was appointed to the Board of Directors in 2007. He has held a number of roles across the business, most recently being Chief Financial Officer.

The Chief Commercial Officer is a new role, reporting to the Chief Executive, that has been created to ensure SMBC Aviation Capital executes on its growth plans. It will bring together all areas of commercial responsibility within the business, including customer relationships, asset management and the development of commercial strategy.

Eithne Manning, who joined the company in 2005 and was previously Head of Funding, Finance and Tax has been appointed Acting Chief Financial Officer.
