Prague, 21 September 2021 – Airline carrier Smartwings has won multiple international tenders for air transport services again. From mid-October until the end of April 2022, the company will operate flights from the Canary Islands to six destinations across Europe for two major tour operators. Smartwings will operate services from Las Palmas to Helsinki, Finland (weekly); Belgrade, Serbia (weekly); Tallinn, Estonia (weekly); Sofia, Bulgaria (weekly); and Bodø and Tromsø, Norway (weekly). Recently, Smartwings won an air transport services contract with German travel agents.

“We are happy to have succeeded in tough competition with other airlines. We will have a base for three airplanes on the Canary Islands. In winter, we will operate flights not only from Czech airports but also from Germany, Poland, Slovakia, France and Canary Islands,” says Roman Vik, Board member and CEO, Smartwings.

As of 1 October 2021, Smartwings will newly provide air transport services for German travel agencies. Flights will be operated from 10 airports in Germany and Switzerland (Munich, Hamburg, Bremen, Düsseldorf, Leipzig, Dresden, Hannover, Stuttgart, Nuremberg, and Zurich), bound for the Canary Islands (Gran Canaria, Fuerteventura) and to Greece (Crete, Rhodes).

Smartwings offers flights from the Czech Republic to 60 destinations. Under the winter flight schedule, Smartwings will offer services from Prague to the Canary Islands (Tenerife, Gran Canaria, Lanzarote, Fuerteventura), Mallorca, Málaga, Tel Aviv, Madeira, Egypt (Hurghada, Marsa Alam), Cape Verde, Oman (Salalah), London, Moscow, and St. Petersburg. As of October 20, Smartwings resumes direct flights from Prague to Dubai, UAE (daily). The airline is also launching a new service to Dubai from Bratislava as of October 24. Smartwings offers its passengers not only favorably priced flight tickets to Dubai but also attractive departure times as a great option for those who use Dubai as a transfer point when traveling to Maldives, Mauritius, Phuket, Seychelles, Colombo, Muscat, Mumbai, or Bangkok.

Smartwings is the largest Czech airline. Besides the Czech Republic, Smartwings operates flights also from its hubs in Poland, France, Slovakia, Hungary, and the Canary Islands. Besides scheduled and charter flights, Smartwings provides a wide range of special flights for international sports clubs and major organizations worldwide.

The Smartwings fleet now numbers 44 aircraft.

Stringent hygienic regulations apply on board of Smartwings Group aircraft. Passengers must wear nose and mouth protection when boarding Smartwings Group aircraft (a respirator mask). Smartwings clients can reschedule their flight for free. Together with their flight tickets, passengers can also purchase travel insurance directly on the Smartwings website complete with coverage for the COVID-19 disease.
