SkyUp Airlines has received its air operator certificate (AOC), thus allowing the new Ukrainian low-cost carrier to begin operations.

SkyUp plans to begin charter flights on behalf of its owner, Join UP!, by end of May 2018. Domestic flights will begin later, from Kyiv to Odesa and from Kharkiv to Odesa.

The carrier will begin operations with two used B737-800s, previously flown by Malaysia Airlines, and now registered in the Ukraine as UR-SQA and UR-SQB. A B737-700 will joing the fleet thereafter.
