SkyUp Airlines expects AOC soon, along with first three B737NGs
SkyUp Airlines (Ukraine) expects to receive its AOC by 19 April 2018, with launch of charter operations shortly thereafter, to Turkey and Egypt. Regular scheduled flights are due to begin from June 2018.
Carrier to lease two vintage 2013 ex-MAS B737-800s from Boeing Capital Corporation, with delivery in April 2018. A third aircrat, a B737-700, from an undisclosed lessor will follow by the end of the month.
The carrier plans to split regular and charter flights 50/50. Regular routes include Odessa to Kiev and Kharkiv, as well as to Barcelona and Larnaca.
SkyUp Airlines and Boeing recently announced a firm order for five B737 MAX aircraft — two MAX 8s and three MAX 10s — in deal valued at US$624 million at list prices. Delivery planned for 2023. Deal also includes five options also to be delivered in 2023.
