SKY express: strengthens its fleet by 17% and flies to Greece and Europe with brand new aircraft
SKY express strengthens its fleet by 17% and flies to Greece and Europe with brand new aircraft.
With an average age of 1.6 years for ATR 72-600 type aircraft and 3.1 years for Airbusneo, SKY express retains the privilege of being the youngest fleet in Greece and one of the most environmentally friendly in Europe. The significant growth presented by the company is reflected in the increase in the number of aircraft which now stands at 27, with a growth rate of 17% for 2024. In particular:
- A321neo x 2
- A320neo x 10
- A320ceo x 1
- ATP72-600 x 10
- ATR2-500 x 4
The Airbus fleet of SKY express is powered by CFM LEAP-1A engine. This is a strategic choice and investment of the company, as this type of engine is associated with proven reliability and competitive advantages in its category:
- 20% less fuel consumption and production of less CO2 pollutants
- 50% less NOx emissions
- 50% smaller noise footprint
SKY express ATR aircraft offer the necessary flexibility required at many regional airports in the country. Moreover, with 45% less fuel and therefore pollutants, and with CO2 emissions 45% less compared to regional jets, SKY express connects both the Greek islands and other domestic destinations in a modern and sustainable way.
The company has renewed its fleet of ATR aircraft and now, their average age does not exceed 1.6 years. In this way, SKY express promises all passengers who choose to visit any of the 33 Greek destinations on its network that they will travel in a brand-new plane! It is worth noting that in April, the company received another ATR 72-600, the SX-TFI.
