NEW YORK, August 17, 2018 – The operating results for August 2018 are given in the table below.

In August 2018, SIA Group airlines' passenger load factor (PLF) improved 4.3 percentage points to 85.2%. Passenger carriage (measured in revenue passenger kilometers) increased 11.7% compared to last year, outpacing capacity (measured in available seat kilometers) injection of 6.1%.

Singapore Airlines' PLF improved 4.4 percentage points to 84.8%. Passenger carriage increased 8.9% compared to last year, against a 3.2% increase in capacity. PLF improved for all route regions due to stronger returning traffic from summer holidays.

SilkAir’s systemwide passenger carriage increased by 8.8%, ahead of capacity growth of 3.9%. Consequently, PLF increased 3.6 percentage points to 79.4%. PLF improved for all route regions.

Scoot recorded passenger carriage growth of 23.5%, exceeding capacity expansion of 18.7%. Consequently, PLF rose by 3.5 percentage points to 88.3%. PLF on all route regions improved as demand outpaced changes in capacity. Selected routes to North Asia, India, Vietnam and Australia continued to improve.

Cargo load factor (CLF) fell 0.3 percentage points, as cargo traffic (measured in freight-ton-kilometers) increased 0.9%, trailing growth in cargo capacity of 1.4%. CLF improved across most regions except Americas and South West Pacific, as demand did not keep pace with capacity changes.
