LOS ANGELES, August 11, 2021 – Singapore Airlines has announced the launch of flights from Los Angeles (LAX) to Taipei (Taoyuan International Airport, TPE), commencing 25 August 2021.  The new flight represents the latest step in the ongoing rebuilding of the carrier’s U.S. network since the schedule reductions brought about by covid-19.

SIA will operate Airbus A350-900 aircraft on the route, offering a three-cabin configuration including Business Class (42 seats), Premium Economy Class (24 seats), and Economy Class (187 seats).  Round-trip, Economy Class airfares will be priced from $788, including taxes and fees.

In addition to offering a new option for travellers, the new service represents a further increase in SIA’s freight capacity between Los Angeles, Taiwan, Singapore, and connecting destinations.  This expanded cargo operation is anticipated to support freight shipments across a range of industries, including e-commerce, perishables, technology and others.

“With this new service, SIA continues to demonstrate its commitment to rebuild and grow our U.S. route network,” said Joey Seow, Regional Vice President – Americas at Singapore Airlines.  The company also recently announced restoration of flights from Los Angeles to Tokyo and Singapore, which commenced in June 2021, among other services.  “At the same time, our long-term strategy prioritizes flexibility in deploying our fleet, allowing us to move quickly to offer passengers new options for travel as opportunities arise, such as this new service to Taipei.”  The addition of new LAX-TPE services will bring SIA’s U.S. route network to approximately 47 percent of pre-covid flight frequency.

3x Weekly LAX-TPE Flights from 25 August 2021

SQ#035 will operate from LAX to TPE three times weekly, departing Los Angeles at 00:40 on Monday, Thursday and Saturday, arriving at Taipei International Airport at 06:10 (plus one day).

SQ#036 will operate from TPE to LAX three times weekly, departing Taipei at 17:50 on Wednesday, Friday and Sunday, arriving at Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) at 15:20.

Our Commitment to Healthy Travel

SIA has implemented a broad range of health and safety measures inflight, including extensive aircraft cleaning, social distancing measures, one-tray meal service to reduce passenger-to-crew contact, and the provision of personal care kits for each passenger, among other activities.  All SIA aircraft are equipped with advanced, HEPA filtration systems that replace all cabin air every 3 minutes, providing a safer inflight environment.  All passengers and crew are required to wear masks for the duration of their flight.
