SINGAPORE, 22 June 2023 – Mainboard-listed SIA Engineering Company Limited (“SIAEC”) is pleased to announce that it has signed an agreement with Hawaiian Airlines Inc. (“Hawaiian Airlines”) to perform airframe maintenance services for its A321neo fleet of 18 aircraft into Year 2027. The maintenance services will be undertaken at one of SIAEC Base Maintenance’s network of facilities, SIA Engineering Company (Philippines) Corporation (“SIAEP”), in Clark, Philippines. Currently, SIAEC is providing A330 maintenance services at its Singapore facility for Hawaiian Airlines’ 24 A330 aircraft.
Hawaiian Airlines, headquartered in Honolulu, Hawai’i, offers approximately 150 daily flights within the Hawaiian Islands, and nonstop flights between Hawaiʻi and 15 U.S. gateway cities – more than any other airline – as well as services connecting Honolulu and American Samoa, Australia, the Cook Islands, Japan, New Zealand, South Korea and Tahiti.
Mr Jeremy Yew, Senior Vice President Base Maintenance of SIAEC, said: “This signing is a significant milestone as it expands our existing partnership with Hawaiian Airlines from the A330 maintenance in Singapore, to A321neo maintenance to be performed by SIAEP, our subsidiary in Clark. It demonstrates the confidence Hawaiian Airlines has in our base maintenance services and engineering support across our network of hangars.”
Mr Jim Landers, Senior Vice President, Technical Operations for Hawaiian Airlines, said: “SIAEC continues to provide efficient, flexible, and quality base maintenance services for our A330 fleet. As we entrust SIAEP with our A321neo 6-year checks, we look forward to building new relationships with the team in the Philippines and expect nothing short of the standard set by SIAEC in Singapore.”
The transaction is not expected to have a material impact on the earnings per share or the net tangible assets per share of SIAEC for the financial year ending 31 March 2024. None of the Directors and controlling shareholders of SIAEC has any interest, direct or indirect, in the transaction, other than through their shareholdings (if any) in SIAEC.
