As an Osaka-bound Boeing 737-300 lifted off at Nanjing International Airport, SF Express and SF Airlines entered a new chapter in the development of its international air cargo network. The new Nanjing-Osaka route is SF Express first international route to have a daily chartered flight that leaves every business day at the exact same time.
The launch ceremony took place at Nanjing Lukou International Airport and was attended by various government officials from Jiangsu province and the city of Nanjing.
SF Express International Business Unit CEO David William Adams mentioned that "Providing superior service has always been our promise to customers. The opening of Nanjing-Osaka air cargo route further enriches our international air express transportation network. With the solid foundation of our air, ground, and information system, we are able to provide an integrated logistics solution with comprehensive service for our customers, which makes our cross-border logistics capabilities more efficient and helps to create a better customer experience. "
SF Express Japan General Manager Simon Truss mentioned that the Nanjing-Osaka air cargo route will help to raise awareness of SF Express and its brand in Osaka as it represents growing trade ties between China and Japan. Additionally, management from the Nanjing Lukou International Airport and officials from the Jiangsu Provincial Postal Administration also expressed their support.
With the support of the city of Nanjing and Nanjing Lukou International Airport, goods sent by SF Express Nanjing-Osaka cargo flights will be able to go through the customs clearance process quicker, ensuring that its customers will be able to receive superior service. Additionally, the air cargo route will run on every weekday from Monday to Friday, making five roundtrips a week and ensuring that shipments will be transported quickly.
Nanjing, as one of China's ancient capitals and an important hub within east China, has seen rapid economic growth over the last few years, and as a result its air logistics capabilities have become more and more sophisticated as well. At the same time, as a leader in the privately-run express delivery space, SF Express has been focusing on expanding and improving China's logistics network to provide first-mile pick-up and last-mile delivery capabilities throughout the entire country. SF Express hopes that with this new air cargo service, it can help more companies from the Yangzte River Delta expand overseas, as well as help more foreign companies enter the China market.
