  • An Austrian team transferred second A320neo from Toulouse to Vienna
  • "Zulu Oscar" will be named "Seewinkel
  • First commercial flight scheduled for December
  • Enhanced fuel efficiency and more comfort for passengers due to innovative technology and design

The Austrian Airlines fleet is growing with four factory-new A320neo. On October 20, the first Austrian Airlines A320neo took off for its commercial maiden flight to London. The second A320neo landed at Vienna Airport today, November 4, at 12 p.m. local time with flight number OS1472. The plane with the registration OE-LZO was picked up by an Austrian team from the Airbus factory in Toulouse and transferred to its new home. In the upcoming weeks, the cabin refurbishment and painting will be done.

Like the first aircraft with the registration OE-LZN, the second A320neo will also be named after an Austrian national park and will be operated in the future under the name "Seewinkel" on continental routes - primarily on the London, Berlin, Frankfurt and Amsterdam routes. The first commercial passenger flight is scheduled for December. The next two Neo are scheduled for delivery in spring 2023.

More fuel-efficient, quieter, cost-effective and more comfortable for passengers

Compared with previous model, the aircraft is up to 20 percent more fuel-efficient and around 50 percent quieter, and also offers enhanced travel comfort. Thanks to its innovative Airspace Cabin, passengers will benefit from more personal space and a larger capacity for hand luggage. In addition, a new lighting concept ensures a sense of well-being on board.
