Satena obtained approval from Colombia's House of Representatives in regards to its capitalization. The decision now goes to a plenary session, with an announcement expected in the coming days.

The US$33.9 million in funds will be used to purchase four aircraft -- up to 19 passengers -- to open new routes in remote regions of the country such as Chocó, Amazonas, Guainía, and Orinoquía.

The airline is owned by the Colombian government.
